Description

The 18-story Medical Arts Building opened in downtown Dallas in 1922. It was one of the first skyscrapers in the world devoted to medical offices and the tallest reinforced concrete structure in Texas, with space for 400 physicians and dentists. The builder was Dr. Edward H. Cary, a prominent eye, ear, nose, and throat surgeon, who until 1921 had been Dean of Baylor University College of Medicine. The building was razed in 1977.
